Drought Expands; Mother Nature Offers Help

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): While rain has helped our rain deficit from growing more this month, the entire state is now in a drought.

WEATHER OUTLOOK: Following a gorgeous late evening into Friday, several of you reading this post will see a shower or storm Saturday between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday will be dry in many spots and then all next week, you will see a thunderstorm or shower in the afternoon at some point. The rain risk is high each day in our entire southern West Virginia, so at least the drought will likely not get worse. Temperatures will stay in check with average.

DROUGHT STATUS: The entire state is now in a drought, with the Panhandle now one level away from the top end status.
