MERCER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – CSC’s Candle Bakery’s handmade dessert-style candles and wax melts look good enough to eat.
Owner Courtney Orlicki’s hyperrealistic designs and scents (from peach smoothie to blueberry muffin to buttered popcorn and more) capture the essence of the real thing, down to every last detail.
Orlicki went on a life-changing journey to pour and curate a lot of love into each of her candle confections.
“Feels good to be able to do something I’m proud of,” she said, when it comes to creating her soy-based candles. “Taking that leap of faith is what’s important.”
Starting her own business has been transformational.
“Very heartwarming to be able to put my crafts (out there) for the public to buy and use as unique gifts to make the occasion special,” said Orlicki.
Artistry is in her blood. The candlemaker says from an early age she loved painting and crafting.
“I have always enjoyed working with my hands and creating things. And that is a good way to express emotions,” she said.
According to the artist, she came from a rough background and overcame addiction.
“I got off drugs and wanted something to build,” said Orlicki. “I like to share my story to inspire other women or men who have a dark past — you can still succeed in life and be good.”
This inspirational businesswoman has so many delectable scents, choose your fancy from her sweet Princeton shop.
“I’ll make wild berry scented pop-tarts that you can break and put in your wax warmers,” Orlicki said, adding that her cinnamon sugar pretzel is next level. “It’s a newer scent and smells just like baked pretzels with cinnamon. We also do car diffusers that make your car smell like a bakery.”
