Lewis County, WV (WOAY) – Details are released regarding a fatal accident in Lewis County that happened earlier this week.
According to a media release from the West Virginia State Police, on Tuesday June 10, 2025, Troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident on I-79 southbound.
Once arriving on scene Cpl. Jones of the WVSP observed a vehicle with heavy damage that appeared to have rear ended a tractor trailer as it was traveling up a hill.
The driver, identified as 48-year-old Douglass Skaff of South Charleston, WV was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation by a WVSP Crash Reconstruction Team.
