Department of Human Services announce supplemental payments for Low Income Energy Assistance Program recipients

West Virginia (WOAY)- The West Virginia Department of Human Service (DoHS), Bureau for Family Assistance (BFA) announces supplemental payments for Low-Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) recipients. 

Residents who received LIEAP assistance during the 2023-2024 program year will automatically receive an additional one-time payment. 

The payment will range between $25 and $142, with the exact rate determined based on the assistance provided for heating costs. 

Supplemental benefits will be sent to the electric or gas company on record. 

Residents who used lieap funds for bulk fuel purchases will receive payments by mail. 

All eligible recipients can expect their additional payments by mid-October.
