Dense Fog Pushes Across Region; Wind, Snow Next

The rain is exiting but allow yourself a few extra minutes for the morning commute thanks to widespread dense fog.

Visibility is less than one mile, down to one-tenth of a mile in spots. The fog will not lift until about 10 a.m. Even then, clouds won’t budge until just before the front moves through between 4-7 p.m. The winds will increase to 30 mph as the front pushes through and temperatures will drop from 57 degrees to the upper 30s.

The snow will commence Thursday afternoon and transition to flurries/freezing drizzle Friday evening. Snow accumulation will range from 1-2″ for most of the region west of the Greenbrier Valley to 10″ in Snowshoe. Several roads will be slippery Thursday night into Friday morning and stay tuned for any 2-hour delays Friday morning thanks to the slushy sidewalks and parking lots.
