Deadline extended to report SNAP food losses following severe storms in Boone, Logan and Raleigh Counties

West Virginia (WOAY) West Virginia SNAP recipients in three counties now have more time to report food losses caused by last month’s severe storms.

The West Virginia Department of Human Services has received federal approval to extend the reporting deadline through July 13 for eligible households in Boone, Logan and Raleigh counties.

Residents who lost food because of flooding or power outages lasting more than four hours may qualify for replacement SNAP benefits by submitting a signed affidavit.

For more information, contact your local Department of Human Services office or call the state’s customer service hotline at (877) 716-1212.
