WOAY – Longtime basketball coach Dave Barksdale will return to the sidelines this season, as an assistant to Ron Kidd and the Woodrow Wilson boys basketball team.
Barksdale was previously the head coach of the Flying Eagles for 17 years, winning 335 games and making 11 straight tournament appearances. They won five state championships under his tenure.
After his time at Beckley, Barksdale coached at a school in South Carolina, along with Mountain State University and Greater Beckley Christian. He has also taught at various camps throughout Southern West Virginia.
Woodrow Wilson opens the 2017-18 season December 12 at George Washington.
