Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – Crews are finishing repairs after a coal train derailed in Thurmond overnight Monday into Tuesday.
It happened right where the tracks cross the road as you come over the bridge in front of the Thurmond depot.
On Tuesday morning, RJ Corman Railroad Company was working to place derailed cars full of coal back onto the tracks.
They are also preparing to replace damaged rails that were mangled when the cars derailed which should be complete by the end of the night.
