CPSC announces recall of more than 200,000 cordless walk-behind mowers due to risk of overheating

West Virginia (WOAY)- You probably aren’t ready to think about cutting grass yet, but listen up if you have an electric mower.

More than 217,000 “Ryobi 40-volt brushless 21-inch cordless walk-behind mowers” have been recalled.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says the mowers can overheat, which poses a potential hazard.

TTI Outdoor Power Equipment says it has received dozens of overheating reports.

Five of them resulted in fires, and two caused minor burn injuries.

The mowers were sold in the United States and Canada.
