Countdown nears zero for World TeamTennis season

WOAY – Hear from World TeamTennis CEO Carlos Silva, as the league is now less than a week away from beginning its 2020 season at the Greenbrier Resort.

Starting Sunday, the league will be holding at least three regular-season matches per day through July 30. Up to 500 fans will be permitted to attend outdoor matches at the Center Court at Creekside; if matches are moved indoors due to weather, the limit goes to 250 fans.

League CEO Carlos Silva says having the season is “right for the times,” noting how matches are fast-paced. He also mentions how players being in teams will help them with confidence, which may be new to fans who don’t normally see players interact during matches.

Notable names scheduled to play on various WTT squads include Venus Williams and Bob & Mike Bryan, who have each played in exhibitions at the Greenbrier in recent years.
