Convoy of Hope delivers 35,000 pounds of food to Beckley church for community distribution on Saturday

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Calvary Assembly of God in Beckley had a special delivery on Thursday morning of about 35,000 pounds of non-perishable food items.

The food came from Convoy of Hope out of Missouri as the church has had a partnership with them for years.

Lead Pastor John Jordan says the goal is to hand it out to the community on Saturday in a drive-through at the church to meet the needs during this pandemic.

“We’re not probably fully cognitive of all the needs that are out there, so we just wanted to try to take this opportunity to be a little help in a moment,” he said.

The church is planning a start time on Saturday of 10 a.m. and going until 2 p.m. or until the food runs out. The church is located at 319 Sunset Dr. in Beckley.
