Consumer Product Safety Commission issues recall for Baby Shark toy

Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Over seven million Baby Shark toys are being recalled for risk of serious injury.

The full and mini-sized versions of the “Robo Alive Junior Baby Shark Sing and Swim bath toys” have been flagged by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The agency says the hard plastic top fin can seriously puncture or cut a child.

Consumers should immediately stop using the toys.

CPSC.gov has full instructions for how to submit electronic documentation to receive a refund.

The manufacturer states it has gotten 12 reports of children falling or sitting on the toys.

The children required stitches or other medical attention in nine of these incidents.
