Concord University to host ribbon-cutting for reopening of newly renovated Woodlyn and Earl Kendrick indoor athletic practice facility on November 7

Athens, WV (WOAY)- Concord University is celebrating a major milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The grand reopening of its newly renovated Woodlyn and Earl Kendrick Indoor Athletic Practice Facility is set for noon, Friday, November 7, inside Carter Hall.

The event marks the completion of a large-scale renovation project.

The CU Ascend Campaign funded the project, raising more than $16 million to support Concord’s students, faculty, and facilities.

The upgraded complex now features an indoor turf practice area, weight room, golf simulators, and a track, designed to serve Concord’s more than 600 student-athletes.

Athletic officials say the space will allow year-round training and recovery opportunities.

Concord leaders are calling the project a symbol of progress and community generosity.

Anyone planning to attend the celebration is urged to RSVP via email at bbreeden@concord.edu or by calling (304) 384-5223.
