Concord University making plans to host upcoming regional Science Bowl

Athens, WV (WOAY) – Concord is making plans to host a regional science competition.

According to a media release from Concord University, science students from area high schools will host the regional Science
Bowl competition on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The tournament style competition will test students’ knowledge in topics including science, technology, engineering, and
mathematics (STEM). The regional event will also challenge competitors with scientific questions in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, Earth
science and energy.

The University directs schools with teams planning on participating to register at https://apply.concord.edu/register/sciencebowl_nov08 by Friday, Oct. 31, 2025. The teams consist of four students and one alternate, with a teacher serving as mentor/coach.

The competition scheduled to take place on Concord’s Athens campus, with check-in beginning at 10 a.m. on the third floor of the Jean and Jerry L. Beasley Student Center. Competition rounds will take place in the Science Building between the hours of 1:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
