Concord University hosting Paint CU Teal Day on April 7 in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month

Athens, WV (WOAY) April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Concord University is taking part in a national movement to stand with survivors.

Paint CU Teal Day is designed to raise awareness about sexual assault and show support for those impacted.

The teal ribbon represents the fight against sexual violence, and organizers say even small acts of participation can send a powerful message.

Students, faculty, and staff can stop by booths across campus to paint their nails teal, pick up resources, or grab teal gear.

Everyone is also encouraged to snap a photo and share it using the hashtag #paintitteal to help spread awareness.

The event kicks off at 9:30 on Tuesday, April 7, in the state room, with outreach tables set up afterward near the Libby Alvis Dining Hall and the J. Franklin Marsh Library.
