Athens, WV (WOAY) Concord University is expanding its graduate offerings with a new Master of Public Health program.
The university has received approval from the Higher Learning Commission to offer the degree, which is designed to prepare graduates to address public health challenges and improve health outcomes across Appalachia.
The program combines core coursework, specialized electives and an applied practicum, giving students hands-on experience in the public health field.
University officials say the degree could benefit healthcare professionals, health educators, and students interested in areas such as environmental health, disease prevention, and public health data.
The program is part of Concord’s Center for Rural Healthcare Solutions and is designed to prepare graduates to address the unique needs of rural communities.
The university says students can also combine the MPH with other graduate programs, including physician assistant and MBA degrees.
The program is currently accepting students for the Fall 2027 semester.
