Concord Football Picked Ninth in Preseason Poll

WOAY – Concord was picked ninth in the Mountain East preseason football poll Tuesday, as voted on by the league’s coaches.

Shepherd was picked to defend its title receiving eight of eleven first-place votes, with Notre Dame and Fairmont State receiving the remaining three.

The Mountain Lions are coming off a 2-9 season but are feeling confident about putting the past behind them. They return multi-year veterans such as Jeremiah Johnson, Chaudlier Shepherd, and Derek Dressler.

Concord’s season opener is August 31 against West Virginia Wesleyan.
