Concord Basketball Hosts a Doubleheader with Shepherd

Athens, WV (WOAY) – The Mountain Lions secured a close win tonight against Shepherd 76-70 while posting a season-high 13 three-pointers. With this win Concord improves to 12-11 and 8-9 in the MEC. Tommy Bolte was Concord’s driving force tonight as he posted a team-high 42 points and made seven three-pointers.

The Lady Mountain Lions also put on a great show tonight as their game went into overtime against Shepherd. Concord led early in the game and continued to lead in the 3rd quarter. However, Shepherd’s Morgan Arden sent the game into overtime tied at 64 with 13 seconds left in the 4th. Shepherd went on to win 76-72. Madison May posted a game-high 21 points and shot 11-13 from the foul line. Riley Fitzwater finished the night with a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Both teams will host Fairmont State on Saturday. CU women will tip-off at 2:00 p.m and CU Men will play right after at 4:00 p.m
