Concord Alum J. Kenneth Moore to share his journey from Athens to the Metropolitan Museum of Art at Carl Azzara Music Colloquium on April 7

Athens, WV (WOAY) An accomplished Concord alum is returning to campus to share his story. 

J. Kenneth Moore, Curator Emeritus of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Department of Musical Instruments, will speak as part of the Carl Azzara Music Colloquium.

Moore, a Concord graduate, went on to study ethnomusicology in New York, where he began his career at the Met as a night watchman while attending Hunter College.

His talk will highlight that journey, from Concord to one of the world’s most renowned museums. 

The event kicks off on Tuesday, April 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Wilkes Family Chapel at University Point.

Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. 

The Carl S. Azzara Music Colloquium Endowment was established in memory of Concord graduate Carl Azzara, honoring his lifelong passion for music, education, and the university.
