Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Organizers are making plans for a concert to support two charities in Raleigh County.
WOAY first reported the cancellation of the 2025 Friends of Charity Auto Fair in early April due to insurance issues.
According to a media release, plans are underway for a new concert fundraiser to support Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Brian’s Safehouse.
The new event is called “Friends of Charity: Revved Up Regardless – A Full-Throttle Fundraiser, Shifting Gears for a Cause” and will take place on July 12, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Woodrow Wilson High School Auditorium.
The show will feature CAPTURED Louisville, a premier Journey tribute band. CAPTURED is led by Rob Maupin and Matt Coddington backed up by seasoned musicians who’ve performed with classic rock bands Cheap Trick and Foreigner. The band is known for unforgettable, crowd-pleasing performances that bring fans to their feet.
Advanced tickets can be purchased now for a minimum donation of $15. Premium center-section seats in the first three rows are available for $50, $40, and $30, while all other seating is general admission. Event proceeds will directly benefit Hospice of Southern West Virginia and Brian’s Safehouse.
“We may be shifting gears this year, but our mission remains in overdrive,” said Janett Green, CEO of Hospice of Southern West Virginia. “Even without the Auto Fair, we’re ‘Revved Up Regardless’ to bring people together in support of hospice care and recovery. This concert will be a celebration of life, hope, and the generosity of a community that always shows up.”
