WOAY – Virginia Tech Athletics announced Thursday that the Hokies’ football game with Virginia will now be played December 12 at Lane Stadium. It was previously scheduled for September 19, but postponed due to an increase in COVID-19 cases on the Blacksburg campus.
Kickoff time for the game and additional details will be announced at a later date. Virginia Tech’s season opener is currently slated for September 26 against North Carolina State, also in Blacksburg.
Virginia won last year’s Commonwealth Cup meeting 39-30 in Charlottesville, their first win in the rivalry since 2003. Virginia Tech leads the all-time series 58-38-5.
