Comfy Night Ahead; Humidity Returns With a Vengeance

WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): A comfortable air mass will quickly turn very muggy by the end of the week and natural fireworks are in the forecast.

COMFORT LEVEL: The air mass through Wednesday will be quite comfortable, but watch out for the Fourth of July and Friday. It will turn very sticky again (similar to last weekend). Over the weekend into early next week, the mugginess factor will be dialed down a notch.

RAIN/THUNDERSTORM THREATS: Expect a shower or thunderstorm on the Fourth of July between 2-8 p.m. We don’t see a risk for fireworks to be cancelled due to nearby storms. Another shower or storm is likely on Friday and then the risk for storms returns on Monday.

HURRICANE BERYL: It will remain a major hurricane but steering currents will keep it south of the U.S. mainland, so no impacts are expected other than increasing surf or waves at the Gulf Coast and Southeast Atlantic beaches.
