C&O Cleaners in Oak Hill closing its doors

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – After 91 years of service, C & O Cleaners in Oak Hill will close its doors.

A few weeks ago, co-owner Sandi Flint was ready to reopen along with the rest of the state, but after realizing how paranoid the reopening made her, she decided it was time to retire.

The cleaners are one of the only ones left in the area, making it a service many local residents depend on. Flint says she’ll miss the people the most, but she’s looking forward to retirement.

“I mainly want to tell everybody that I’m so thankful for their support, for their encouragement,” said Flint. “You know, they really kept me going, especially for the prayers that have been offered. I think sometimes we’ve probably had more prayer in this call office than there has been in some churches.”

The laundromat will remain open. If you are looking for a new place to send your dry cleaning, DTE Repair and Towing in Oak Hill is now a pick-up station for Peter Pan Cleaners out of Charleston.
