Plenty of clouds are in the skies around the region today, but the showers are staying away for now.

So far, the activity on the radar has been light and is located to our south and west.

Temperatures, meanwhile, are quite a bit warmer now than they were yesterday, by around 10 degrees in most locations.

The showers off to our west on the radar are attached to a system that will pass through the area tomorrow and Friday. With the system, there could also be some thunder.

With such good chances for rain in the forecast and rain falling fairly frequently the last week, we’ll be tracking the amounts that fall. Fortunately, it looks like totals will be low enough that any water concerns involve ponding on roads and some standing water in low-lying spots.

After this next system is gone, we get another brief break, just in time for the weekend. Another storm comes into the area early next week. Showers and storms are in the forecast for next Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures throughout the extended forecast will stay close to normal. Highs will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s, with lows in the 50s most days, bookending weekend temperatures that may have us breaking out the jackets in the morning hours.
