It is a cloudy and cool day around the region, as the front that gave us showers yesterday is gone now, leaving cooler air in its wake.

There are even still some showers around, but all of the showers are to our southeast in Virginia.

Temperatures have struggled to get to the normal for today, generally sitting in the lower to middle 60s and running about 10 or so degrees below where they were at this time yesterday.

Tomorrow, we’ll see the upside of the temperature roller coaster, as highs will once again be in the middle 70s with plenty of sunshine mixed in with some clouds. The warmup is ahead of another low-pressure center that will give us chances for showers and storms beginning on Thursday afternoon and lasting into the weekend.

Rainfall totals with this system will be decent (perhaps as much as 1 – 1.5″ in some spots over the 48-hour period), but it should be spread out enough to keep the flooding threat to a minimum.
As for temperatures, readings on both ends of the scale should remain above the normal by a few degrees, with highs in the 70s most days.
