Cloudy and cold today, but much warmer by midweek

There were some early snow showers around parts of Southern West Virginia this morning, but most of those ended by the afternoon. It’s all snow instead of the rain that we saw yesterday because temperatures are MUCH colder this afternoon than they were at this time on Sunday.

In addition to the much colder air, the winds are gusty once again today, making it feel even colder.

Over the next couple of days, the type of weather that we saw last week will return and highs will be pushing 80 degrees by Wednesday. But the weather pattern is very unsettled and more chances for rain – and snow – showers will be in the forecast later this week. A weak area of low pressure will pass over the state on Thursday, followed by two more storm systems. We’ll be closely tracking the storm that will affect the area early next week, it is forecast to be strong. As for temperatures, we’ll see temperatures back at levels that are close to normal.
