Fayette County, WV (WOAY) – The Wilderness Volunteer Fire Department rescued a fallen rock climber Sunday afternoon.
According to the department, a female climber fell nearly 20 feet along the Meadow River.
Firefighters and other responders had to navigate rugged terrain to get to her. They were able to use a basket and a side-by-side to transport her to a waiting helicopter to be airlifted.
She was in stable condition when she was loaded into the helicopter.
