Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Spring is almost here and it’s the perfect time spruce up your house.
Officials with the city of Oak Hill want to remind you that some home improvement activities may require city permits.
According to the city’s Facebook page, in order to have a yard sale within city limits residents are required to obtain a permit. Each address is allowed two permits per year (within a 12-month period). Yard sales are not permitted on Sundays. Residents need to make sure to include the exact street location and sale dates when applying. Permits are free and can be completed online: https://arcg.is/1GiXKX
The post also states that some home improvement projects may require a Construction Permit and/or Inspections. If you plan on hiring a contractor, they must submit a photocopy of their WV Contractor’s License, a Liability Certificate of Insurance and Workers’ Compensation Compliance documentation.
