City of Mount Hope to host memorial event for NFL legend Lonnie Warwick on November 16

Mount Hope, WV (WOAY)- Family, friends, and former teammates will gather this Saturday to celebrate the life of Lonnie Warwick, the former Minnesota Vikings defensive back. 

Known for his steady presence on the field, Warwick played a vital role in the Vikings’ legendary defense during the 1970s, contributing to one of the NFL’s top defensive units in history.  

The celebration of life will be held at the Lonnie Warwick Mount Hope Municipal Stadium with a ceremony reflecting on Warwick’s life both on and off the field.
