BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The City of Beckley held a kids day at New River Park.
Normally the yearly Kids Classic Festival would be happening around this time, but due to the pandemic, they had to change things up.
Instead they invited families to wait in their vehicles while they watch various children’s characters and circus performers. Beckley Events’ director Jill Moorefield says it’s been a pleasure to still be able to hold a kids day.
“It’s great, we’re so blessed with beautiful weather. We’re so thankful. And lots of volunteers, organizations and businesses that have supported it just made it happen. And we’re just so happy to see the smiles on the families,” Moorefield said.
Three shows were held at the park, each having roughly 40 families attend.
