Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – A new candidate has officially announced their campaign for West Virginia governor.
Activist and combat veteran Chase Linko Looper intends to campaign as a Mountain Party candidate.Â
Linko-Looper served over nine years in the United States Army, including a tour in Afghanistan.Â
If elected, he will be the youngest governor in the Mountain State’s history at 30 years old.Â
Linko-Looper will add to a lengthy list of declared candidates eyeing the governor’s role in 2024, including Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, Secretary of State Mac Warner, preschool owner Rashida Yost, state auditor JB McCuskey, Delegate Moore Capito, who is the son of Shelley Moore Capito, and Chris Miller, son of congresswoman Carol Miller.Â
