Charleston man sentenced for failure to register as sex offender

Charleston, WV (WOAY) – Casey Thomas Judd, a 37-year-old man from Charleston was sentenced Thursday to two months in prison, followed by six months of home detention and five years of supervised release.

Judd didn’t provide the information needed for interstate travel required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA).

Court documents state that on June 14, 2024, Judd moved from Charleston to Springfield, Ohio, and failed to register as a sex offender as required by SORNA.

Judd must register as a sex offender due to a conviction for third-degree sexual assault in Kanawha County back on August 21, 2015.
