Charleston Dirty Birds are set for opening day

Kanawha County, WV (WOAY) – The Charleston Dirty Birds are set for opening day tomorrow night.

Ahead of the first game of the season, the team says it has completed serious renovations in the offseason.

The mini golf course has been overhauled, and there is a new kids’ area. Sunday home games will offer free admission for members of Dusty’s Kids Club.

There are 11 firework displays scheduled, along with other promotional events, including Jason Williams bobblehead night.

Owner and CEO Andy Shea says preparing for the season has been exciting, and he can not wait to see all of the hard work in the offseason pay off.

First pitch Tuesday night is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. The Dirty Birds will face off against the Lexington Legends.
