Charleston Area Medical Center bringing mobile mammography unit to Beckley on January 14

Beckley, WV (WOAY) Screening mammograms are one of the most effective tools for detecting breast cancer early.

Vandalia Health’s Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is making screenings more accessible through its mobile mammography unit.

The unit will be parked at the CAMC Cancer Center in Beckley, located at 275 Dry Hill Road, on Wednesdays, starting on January 14, and continuing on the 21st and 28th from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

The mobile unit offers fast, confidential screenings using the same digital imaging technology found at CAMC imaging facilities.

The event is open to the public with a referral, and patients should bring their insurance information.

Women ages 40 and older who have not had a mammogram in the past year and who are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or experiencing breast issues are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for early detection.

To schedule a mammogram, call 304-388-0015.

Pre-registration may be required by insurance.
