Charleston, WV (WOAY)- A Charleston man is now facing upgraded charges in the shooting death of a woman who was previously ruled accidental.
Jacob Fields initially faced wanton endangerment and involuntary manslaughter charges.
Now he is facing first-degree murder charges after police reviewed surveillance video of the incident.
It happened at a Sheetz in Kanawha City, where the victim, Tiffany Clerenia Adkins, was shot in the head.
Police say Fields fired a single shot through the windshield of his car, hitting her and killing her.
Fields said that he was wiping down the barrel of the gun.
However, police now say surveillance video shows Fields waiting for Adkins, raising his gun, and pulling the trigger.
