CFB Watch List update – July 21

WOAY – The announcements of preseason watch lists for individual college football awards continued Tuesday, with lists for the Outland Trophy (best interior lineman) and Bronko Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player).

West Virginia defensive linemen Dante and Darius Stills were each named to the lists for both awards. Darius, who is the Big 12’s Preseason Player Defensive Player of the Year, recorded 47 total tackles in 2019, and is also on the watch list for the Bednarik Award. Dante was a Second Team All-Big 12 selection in 2019.

Joining the Stills brothers on the Outland list is Marshall’s Cain Madden and Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw, the first watch list mention of 2020 for either player.

Virginia Tech has two players – Rayshard Ashby and Caleb Farley – both on the Bronko Nagurski watch list; both were on the Bednarik list last week. Marshall linebacker Tavante Beckett was also mentioned on the Nagurski list.

The watch lists scheduled to be released Wednesday are for the Lou Groza Award (best kicker) and Ray Guy Award (best punter).
