Cruise on over to the Beckley and Shade Tree Summer Car Show this Saturday.
That’s where you’ll find the mayor and community celebrating everything Beckley.
And this year they will give special recognition to our Beckley Babe Ruth All-stars.
“The 14-year-olds who just won the Ohio Valley Regional,” said Beckley events director, Jill Moorefield. “They are bound next week for the World Series — one of 14 teams across the country and internationally. We’re very proud of them.”
According to Moorefield, the team will be treated to a mini parade on a fire truck from the Third Avenue station.
There are also several musical groups performing, including Acoustic Fusion, Soul-Train/Motown-themed music by HGTA Theater Group, and Shane Ingram on Main Street.
The event is 5 to 8pm this Saturday and Moorefield said they are hoping to have more than 100 cars and bikes. You’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.
Be there between 4-5:30am to register your car… cost is $15, some of which will benefit charity.
If you can’t make the car show, check out Fridays in the Park or Beckley Neighborhood Car Cruises.
