LEWISBURG, WV (WOAY) – Despite currently being closed down, Carnegie Hall in Lewisburg finished up some major renovations this summer.
Over the past two years, Carnegie Hall has received half a million dollars in renovations to its auditorium. The upper balcony was the first part of the project, before moving down to the ground floor.
“This spring, starting in April, we were able to do the entire downstairs, the main floor of the auditorium,” said Carnegie Hall President/CEO Sara Crickenburger. “We’ve put in new carpet, new tile under the seats, new seats to replace the ones that have been here since 1958. They are very comfortable and a huge improvement.”
There were also improvements done to the heating and air system that will stand out when Carnegie Hall reopens.
