Car club to support Toys for Tots this weekend

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – This weekend, the Shade Tree Car Club will host a cruise-in to launch their Trunks for Toys drive.

The cruise-in will start at Shady Spring High School at and wind through Raleigh and Summers counties. Members of the car club hope that you’ll come out to enjoy the show, but they would also appreciate any donations to help the kids.

“We have noticed that Toys for Tots are not able to do their regular fundraisers they’re [usually] able to do because of COVID-19,” said secretary and treasurer Stephanie French. “So many children are going without enough as it is. We just simply can’t tell them that Christmas may not come because of this pandemic.”

If Saturday’s event is rained out, the cruise-in will be rescheduled to next week.
