FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – West Virginia Division of Highways announces that CR 2, Cannelton Hollow Road will be closed 3.37 miles north of US 60 near Smithers (around 3.70 miles south of Mount Olive), according to James F. Moore, District Nine Maintenance Engineer.
District Forces will be replacing a large deteriorated pipe. The roadway will be completely closed on Monday, August 31, 2020 beginning at 9:00 a.m. for the duration of the project. A detour will be in place following US 60, WV 16 and Bell Creek Road. Residents using Cannelton Hollow Road are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
WVDOH expresses their apologies for the inconvenience this may cause the citizens and guests to the area. Motorists are asked to observe all traffic control signs and devices and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
The anticipated completion date for this project is September 3, 2020, however, inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the project schedule.
