High pressure centered over the Northeast and Great Lakes this week and then pushing into the Atlantic will bring sunshine and a slow warming trend.
Each day will be sunny with high temperatures creeping back up towards 80 degrees by Friday. Overnight temperatures will remain comfortable in the 40s. A moisture-starved front will trigger a shower or two Saturday with rain amounts less than 0.10 inch. The coolest air so far of this early meteorological fall season will descend on the area in the front’s wake Sunday and Monday. A few spots in western Greenbrier and Pocahontas County will see patchy frost by Monday morning.
