BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Brian Helton prevailed over Christie Cardwell in the state senate race for Wyoming and Raleigh County’s ninth district.
Helton is all about faith, family, and freedom. The lifelong southern West Virginian says we need a conservative business leader to represent us in Charleston.
“I’m overwhelmed tonight — so thankful for everyone who’s come here; it means the world to me,” Helton said. “I can’t wait to see what happens in southern West Virginia over the next four years.”
Your new state senator says too many of our children have to leave for Charlotte and other areas for good jobs.
“I’m happy to be a part of the process here in southern West Virginia. We have such a great future ahead of us,” said Helton. “I’m optimistic about what we’re going to be able to do to help grow our local economy and drive West Virginia forward like never before.”
It’s about time Southern West Virginia had its fair share and a seat at the table, Helton says.
“I’m a Conservative Republican so I’m always gonna fight for our conservative values while driving business opportunities,” the senator said.
According to Helton, our nation is mired down in chaos.
“We have to do our part to keep that stuff out of West Virginia,” he said. “I’m excited to represent our West Virginia values, the things that make it such a great place to live.”
The senator wants to create a coalition among our legislatures and city officials. There’s only a short time between now and when he starts serving.
“I don’t have any plans to take time off because right now in West Virginia, we’re at a crisis,” said Helton. “We need to make sure we’re taking care of our workforce, and our job opportunities. So I’m ready to get started on day one.”
