Flatwoods, WV (WOAY) A Braxton County man has been found guilty of misdemeanor battery.
According to the Braxton County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, 53-year-old Jason Lee Allen was found guilty of sexually motivated misdemeanor battery following a two-day bench trial.
Authorities charged Allen with the crime by West Virginia State Police in November 2025.
Allen is the pastor of the Victory Apostolic Church in Flatwoods.
During the trial, the court heard testimony from witnesses who alleged Allen reached under the skirt of a 24-year-old female member of his congregation, touching her leg and thigh.
Allen was also accused of engaging in inappropriate behavior with another young woman during a meeting while he was alone with her to counsel her on spiritual issues.
Allen alleged that the victim was a chronic liar and had made up the story.
During the trial, the State played a video-recorded interview during which Allen confessed to investigating officers to touching the victim’s leg during the counseling session to feel a scar on her lower calf.
Allen further told officers during the interrogation that he may have touched the victim’s leg further up than her calf, eventually demonstrating touching of her leg from her lower calf to above her knee.
Allen claimed the victim permitted him to touch her leg.
The victim has disputed his claim.
Allen is scheduled to be sentenced on May 27at 9:30 a.m. before Magistrate Skidmore.
He faces a possible sentence of up to one year in jail, and because the Magistrate made a finding that the crime was sexually motivated, he must also register as a sex offender for a period of ten years.
