Bradshaw wins shootout, ready for WV Open

DANIELS, WV (WOAY) – With the 87th West Virginia Open beginning Tuesday, that meant Monday was the popular Coca-Cola Shootout on the Resort at Glade Springs’ Cobb course.

The format sees a set number of golfers play over several holes, with one golfer eliminated each hole until there is a winner. In this instance, 10 golfers (five professionals, five amateurs) began on the course’s 10th hole, with one golfer being eliminated each hole until there were two golfers to play #18.

David Bradshaw would go on to win the shootout by making par on the 18th, while Davey Jude finished as the runner-up. Last year, Bradshaw became the first golfer to win both the pre-tournament shootout and the West Virginia Open itself; the Harpers Ferry native has won the last four Opens and 11 titles overall.

Bradshaw says he feels confident about playing at Glade Springs, where he won the WV Open both in 2006 & 2018. He begins his first round at 12:30 PM Tuesday from the first hole.

WOAY Sports will have coverage throughout the week of the 87th West Virginia Open.
