Beckley, WV (WOAY) – Wyoming East and Westside will meet each other in a sectional championship game after winning their respective semifinals in Beckley on Tuesday.
The Warriors played a close contest with Independence, leading by one at halftime. However, the Warriors gained momentum in the second half, going on to win 68-56.
Westside faced an Oak Hill team that won its first-round game Friday in Clear Fork against Liberty. The Red Devils enjoyed success on offense in the first quarter, particularly through Tyrese Selinger. The Renegades, though, established momentum in the second quarter, winning 55-33.
The two teams split the meetings in the regular season, with the road team winning both contests. Saturday’s game in Beckley is expected to have a high attendance.
