Boone County mother sentenced to prison for the death of her daughter

Boone County, WV (WOAY) – A Boone County mother has been sentenced to prison for the death of her teenage daughter.

51-year-old Julie Ann Stone Miller of Morrisvale, WV, appeared in Boone County Circuit Court on the morning of February 25, 2026, for sentencing after pleading guilty to death of a child by a parent by child abuse during a hearing last November.

Boone County Circuit Court Judge Stacy Nowicki-Eldridge sentenced Miller to 15 years to life in prison for the 2024 death of her 14-year-old daughter, Kyneddi. If granted parole, she will be required to serve 50 years of supervised release.

Kyneddi Miller died on April 17, 2024, after being found on the bathroom floor at a home in Morrisvale, WV.

Law enforcement officers described the girl’s condition as “emaciated to a skeletal state.”

Julie Ann Stone Miller’s parents, Jerry and Donna Stone, were indicted by a grand jury in September of 2024 on multiple felony charges, including murder by parent, guardian, or custodian by failure or refusal to provide necessities.

Donna Stone’s trial date is scheduled for March 17.
Jerry Stone was found incompetent to stand trial.
