Summersville, WV (WOAY) Bonnie’s Bus is making stops in Nicholas County this April, offering three-dimensional screening mammograms and breast care education to women.
The mobile unit from WVU Medicine and the WVU Cancer Institute will be at the Camden Family Health locations in Summersville on April 21 and in Craigsville on April 22, with appointments available from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Screenings are billed to insurance when available, but financial assistance is offered for those who qualify.
Uninsured women age 40 and older may also be eligible for free mammograms through grant funding.
Since 2009, Bonnie’s Bus has provided more than 34-thousand screenings across West Virginia, helping detect more than 200 cases of breast cancer.
Appointments are required, and a physician’s order is needed.
