SUMMERSVILLE, WV (WOAY) – A boat accident has been reported at Summersville Lake.
According to officers, at approximately 9:15p, a damaged boat was found on the shore near the dam on Summersville Lake with no one in or near the boat.
A water and shoreline search for possible patients was immediately started in the area by water rescue teams. One injured patient who was ejected from the boat was found in the water and rescued.
The patient was transported to SRMC in stable condition.
The subject was determined to have been by himself during the accident.
Summersville FD, Wilderness FD, Keslers Cross Lanes FD, Nicholas County Dive Team, Corps of Engineers, and NRP responded.
NRP is the investigating LE agency.
