Bluefield, WV (WOAY) February is Black History Month, and the community is invited to celebrate with an annual parade in Bluefield.
The Black History Month Parade is set for Saturday, February 14, with festivities kicking off at 2:00 pm.
The North East Collective and the Gallery Kids Productions host the annual celebration to honor the history, culture, and the impact of Black leaders, past and present.
This year’s parade route begins on Bluefield Avenue at the old Sentry gas station, crosses the Martin Luther King, Jr. Bridge, then turns onto Pulaski Street, ending at Greater Mount Zion on Park Street.
The Grand Marshal is Pam Jefferies.
Organizers encourage churches, community groups, fraternities, sororities, and local organizations to take part by joining the parade.
