Bluefield wants to put all it’s first responders in one building

Mercer County, WV (WOAY) – One city is looking to move all its first responders into one building.

The city of Bluefield, West Virginia, is in the planning stages to move the fire and police department, along with the Bluefield Rescue Squad, into one building.

The goal is to choose a location central to help respond faster to emergencies, and make access easier to certain parts of the city.

As of now, the building is in the planning stages, no location has been chosen for the new building, but city leaders say they want to choose a location best for the city and build a place that will last for the next fifty to one hundred years.
